I was just wondering how the evening with the Campbells went on Saturday night in Coniston and what items were offered in the auction? Unfortunately, it was a little too far for me to travel.
I‘ve helped with a few charity auction, and it’s a huge effort to market them properly to the right people who will first buy the tickets and more importantly bid for the auction items. I didn’t see any promo as to what the auction items were. To be honest it’s probably in the wrong part of the world to do a charity fun raising auction.
Such a shame but without K7 running to keep Malcom and Donald Campbell's memory alive I'm afraid they'll disappear back into the
obscurity in which they languished back before K7 was raised. If they'd tried the same thing off the back of the boat running in Bute, they'd have needed a bigger venue.
Yes, it's also not for me to travel to such places.

I heard on the social media (so probably wrong!), that there weren’t enough tickets sold, so it got cancelled.
